40-DAY LENT REFLECTION PROGRAMME
DAY 1 – REPENTANCE BEGINS
Text: Psalm 51:1–12
Teaching:
Lent begins with a broken and contrite heart. True repentance is more than saying “sorry”—it is a sincere turning away from sin and turning fully toward God. When we genuinely repent, God restores us and renews the joy of salvation.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, create in me a clean and repentant heart.
2. Restore unto me the joy of my salvation.
3. Wash me thoroughly from all sin and guilt.
4. Remove every desire that leads me away from You.

DAY 2 – RETURN TO THE LORD
Text: Joel 2:12–13
Teaching:
God calls us to return to Him sincerely—not by outward rituals but through inward transformation. His heart is full of mercy; anyone who returns finds compassion instead of condemnation.

1. Father, draw me closer to You daily.

DAY 3 – THE CROSS AND DISCIPLESHIP
Text: Luke 9:23–26
Teaching:
Following Christ requires daily surrender and dying to self. Discipleship is not a one-time event but a continuous lifestyle of sacrifice and submission.

1. Lord, help me carry my cross joyfully.
2. Subdue every fleshly desire in me.

DAY 4 – HUMILITY BEFORE GOD
Text: James 4:6–10
Teaching:
God lifts the humble but resists the proud. Humility opens the doors of spiritual renewal, deliverance, and divine favour.

1. Jesus, break every pride in me.
2. Help me submit fully to Your will.
3. Give me a humble and teachable spirit.

5. Lift me according to Your perfect timing.
DAY 5 – SEEKING GOD EARLY
Text: Psalm 63:1–8
Teaching:
Lent is a time to thirst for God. Seeking Him early shows priority, passion, and devotion.

1. Lord, deepen my hunger for You.
2. Fill my soul with Your presence.
3. Make me a seeker of Your face.
4. Let nothing take Your place in my heart.
5. Satisfy me with Your unfailing love.
DAY 6 – CONFESSION AND CLEANSING
Text: 1 John 1:8–9
Teaching (Merged):
Confession brings cleansing and restoration. God forgives instantly, completely, and lovingly when we sincerely confess.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, forgive all my hidden sins.
2. Cleanse me from every unrighteousness.

DAY 7 – FASTING WITH PURPOSE
Text: Isaiah 58:6–12

True fasting produces transformation and compassion. It breaks chains, rebuilds lives, and releases divine guidance.

2. Use me as an instrument of love and justice.

DAY 8 – TRUSTING GOD FULLY
Text: Proverbs 3:5–6
Teaching:
Trusting God with all our hearts brings direction and peace. God cannot mislead; trusting Him guarantees divine clarity.

1. Teach me to trust You wholeheartedly.
2. Remove every doubt in my heart.

DAY 9 – THE POWER OF THE WORD
Text: Psalm 119:9–16

The Word cleanses, strengthens, and guides. Scripture transforms the mind and equips the believer against sin.

DAY 10 – GOD’S MERCY

God’s mercy is new every morning. His compassion sustains, preserves, and restores us daily.

3. Help me show mercy to others.

DAY 11 – SPIRITUAL WARFARE
Text: Ephesians 6:10–18

The armour of God empowers believers to resist temptation. Spiritual warfare requires alertness, prayer, and the Word.

2. Cover me with Your full armor.

DAY 12 – THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
Text: Psalm 23

God cares, guides, and protects His children. The Shepherd never abandons His sheep—even in the darkest valleys.

1. Shepherd me through this season.
2. Restore my soul and strength.
3. Guide me into Your paths of righteousness.

DAY 13 – OBEDIENCE
Text: 1 Samuel 15:22

God desires obedience above sacrifice. Obedience proves love; disobedience blocks grace.

DAY 14 – THE LOVE OF GOD

DAY 15 – THE CALL TO HOLINESS

Holiness is a divine command, not an option. It separates us from corruption and aligns us with God’s nature.

DAY 16 – PATIENCE IN TRIALS

DAY 17 – GOD OUR REFUGE

3. Protect my family from harm.

DAY 18 – FORGIVENESS
Text: Matthew 6:14–15
Teaching:
Forgiveness is vital for spiritual maturity. Unforgiveness blocks prayer and breeds bitterness.

DAY 19 – THE HOLY SPIRIT

DAY 21 – THE COST OF FOLLOWING JESUS

DAY 22 – THE PEACE OF GOD

DAY 24 – THE CALL TO SERVE
